Bull Hotel

Hall St, Long Melford, Sudbury CO10 9JG, UK – 01787 378494

Big and really old coaching Inn. Oak panels and beams everywhere tremendous history and atmosphere. Easy to find. Great hospitality from a very nice helpful staff and a fine breakfast. Off road parking at the rear and pretty quiet at night for a town centre hotel. Thanks very much

Beautiful location, very traditional looking hotel with meandering passages and rooms. Good selection of lovely food and drink. On-site parking and friendly staff.

The Mill Hotel

Walnut Tree Ln, Sudbury CO10 1BD, UK – 01787 375544

I would just like to thank Nina and the staff for making our wedding day truly special. We had a private wedding in the function room on the 30th July for a small wedding. The food was amazing and the venue is stunning. All staff were extremely attentive and made us feel so looked after. We had a room overlooking the meadow and views are beautiful we have some beautiful wedding photos. Thankyou Nina we will definitely be back!! X

Friendly staff, professional. Amazing food. Good for walks in nearby common grounds and interacting with locals and seeing cows graze on the commons. Enjoyed afternoon tea as well. Town centre is 7 mins walk away

The Black Boy

7 Market Hill, Sudbury CO10 2EA, UK – 01787 379046

A good centre of town hotel which is going to get better and better. The new manager is doing a great job. Parking is being addressed but parking is free in town. The bedrooms are really clean, comfy the staff friendly and helpful. We stayed two nights this week and enjoyed it. Breakfast is good especially the lady chef! The restaurant is comfy and we tried just bar snacks which were tasty. Really good value for money

We stayed here as a friend was having a wedding nearby. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very welcoming and the room was great. Parking was available behind the pub but limited on spaces, you can park in the front of the pub but not during Saturday when the market is on. Breakfast was great as well, both days we stayed. If you're in the area and need somewhere to stay, I highly recommend staying here.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Angel with Rooms

43 Friars St, Sudbury CO10 2AG, UK – 01787 882228

I feel for Sudbury. There is a gap here for someone to provide this town with a great bistro style dinner. The Angel tries but fails. Food was more comfortable then anything and lacked the Wow factor. Decor felt dated. Young staff we're very friendly and assertive provided a good service.

Fantastic little place. Really friendly atmosphere and brilliant food. We were there for three hours scoffing our three courses and quaffing some tasty vino and even though we were last to leave, we were made to feel welcome to the very end!

The Five Bells

63 Bures Rd, Great Cornard, Sudbury CO10 0HU, UK – 01787 379016

Wendy and Abdul are incredibly lovely, it has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and had a wonderful time attending a friend's party, with plenty of entertainment!

Nice little pub. The landlady was a real pleasure and was very helpful in ensuring everything was OK for us, which it was. Looking forward to trying out food in the restaurant area.

Grover & Allen

68-69 North St, Sudbury CO10 1RF, UK – 01787 467660

Food is nice, friendly staff, usually a good selection of ales etc.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!
